About:

The Kniker Carillon, known locally as the “Tower Bells,” is the third generation of bells at the University of Texas at Austin. Its first 17 bells came from the Meneely foundry in New York in 1937, then 39 bells from Petit & Fritsen were added as a gift from the estate of alumna and namesake Hedwig T. Kniker in 1986, making it the largest carillon in Texas. It is played by the 7-member UT Guild of Student Carillonneurs. They play weekly Tower Times at 6pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as concerts every semester.
